MILESTONE FOR AIRPORT

New centre to help business travellers

BAHRAIN International Airport has recorded another milestone its development path by setting up special facilities for business travellers.

Civil Aviation Affairs (CAE) Under Secretary Abrahim Al Hamer opened yesterday the Al Dana Business Centre at the airport's departure area.

He said the new facility was opened in line with the directives of Transportation Minister Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa bin Sulman AL Khalifa.

"The centre, we hope, will serve as a meeting point

for business travellers from the Gulf regoin, who pass through Bahrain International Airport" Said Mr. AL Hamer.

The centre consists of a conference room and three other rooms equipped with computers and other facilities required for business travellers.

"It communication systems is connected to the airport information network. It also has Internet facilities," said Mr. Al Hamer. The centre will be initially opened between 8.30am and midngiht.

"However, the opening hours will eventually by extended to 24 hours daily." said Mr. Al Hamer.

"It will prove a boon especially to transit passengers. Businessmen from Bahrain, who want to meet their counter-parts from other parts of the Gulf, while they are in transit, can make use of the facilities at the centre for their business transaction.
"It will enable them to save time involved in travelling." said Mr. Al Hamer.
He Said the new facility was part of an ongoing programme launched by CAA in offering services of international. standard to everyone using the airport.
